Miqat and Ihram

The Miqats

The Miqat is the boundary line which pilgrims cannot cross without bein in the state of Ihram.

  • Dhul Hulayfah (Abyar Ali): For those coming from Madinah.
  • Al-Juhfah (Rabigh): For those coming from Syria, Egypt, North Africa (and flights crossing Red Sea).
  • Qarn al-Manazil (As-Sayl Al-Kabir): For those coming from Najd, Riyadh, UAE, India, Pakistan.
  • Yalamlam (Sadia): For those coming from Yemen and South.
  • Dhat Irq: For those coming from Iraq.

Prohibitions of Ihram

While in Ihram, you must avoid: cutting hair/nails, using scent, hunting, and marital relations.
