How to Perform Hajj

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. It is performed over 5-6 days in the month of Dhul Hijjah.

Itinerary of Hajj

  • 8th Dhul Hijjah (Mina)

    Enter Ihram, proceed to Mina, spend the night in prayers.

  • 9th Dhul Hijjah (Arafah)

    Stand at Arafat - the most important day of Hajj. Supplicate from Dhuhr to Sunset.

  • 9th Night (Muzdalifah)

    Spend the night under open sky, collect pebbles for Jamarat.

  • 10th Dhul Hijjah (Eid)

    Stone Jamarat al-Aqabah (Big Pillar), perform Qurbani (Sacrifice), Shave Head (Halq), and perform Tawaf al-Ifadah.

  • 11th-13th Dhul Hijjah (Tashreeq)

    Stay in Mina, stone all three Jamarat each day.

  • Final

    Perform Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf) before leaving Makkah.
